Category Area Metals, Plastics and Floatglas is responsible for purchasing at lowest cost and right quality from 250 Suppliers mainly in metals and plastics often referred to as durable low cost carriers. The Category Area delivers over 40 % of all IKEA BTI products. The Supplier base is global, and our teams are located in 7 countries around the world.

Job Description

As Category Area Logistics Manager you work with securing the supplier capacity planning process and delivery capabilities. You are responsible for the logistic cost out and digital developments needed to ensure the above. In close cooperation with the Category Management Team, you will contribute to the development and implementation of Category Plans, setting logistics priorities and building alignment with other partners in the supply chain to develop the value chain. You work together with Category Managers and business development teams in your area of responsibility, you support them in developing and implementing the actions plans that have been agreed with suppliers. You will be a member of Category Area Management team. In this role you will report to Category Area Manager Maria Blixt.

You are the manager of the Category Logistic Leaders.

More in detail the assignment consists of:

  • Responsibility for the Supplier Capacity process in the Category Area and responsible to develop and secure ways of working for capacity planning in operational and tactical horizon.
  • Lead, contribute and/or coordinate Supplier total logistics development activities
  • Managing and Leading the team of Category Logistics Leaders.
  • Overall Matrix responsibility for the competence agenda of the Supply planners. This means support in building competence plans to meet both short- and long-term business goals and to coach and mentor co-workers in this position.
  • Contribute to the total value chain development by leading logistics development initiatives, being an active part of designing and optimizing the supply chain networks for the respective categories.
  • Represent Purchase Development Logistics matrix in diverse global initiatives initiated by Supply Chain stakeholders.
  • Be a part of creation of the PD logistics direction and logistics priorities. Be the owner and leader of one of them
  • Ensure close cooperation between logistics matrix and other SC stakeholers, e.q. SCO functions for delivering towards common goals and priorities related to both business and people

Qualifications

With solid knowledge and experience of roles in the field of logistics in a global organization, you have a strong capability to identify and act on supplier and supply chain development opportunities and to deliver results. You are experienced of combining work on strategic, tactical and operational level and leading work towards common goals through cooperation with various stakeholders. You know that key to success is to have motivated and competent people on-board. You have in your current and previous positions proven your ability in leading and developing both business and people. You already have experience from leading other leaders and you have the ability to bring out the best in the people and organizations you encounter.

You build trust and partnership to reach common goals. You are strongly business minded, and able to foresee the consequences of one’s own and others actions and act based on high moral and ethical principles. You have a strong passion for leadership and developing both people and ways of working.

Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
