Update coordinator
We are looking for an update coordinator with a strong project management background. As the update coordinator, you will be working with Reworks (line changes) or Field actions (aftermarket changes). Under this recruitment, we are looking for two candidates to cover both of these areas.
Position Overview/ Areas of responsibility:
Field Coordination:
The Update Coordinator is responsible for managing corrective actions required for aftermarket cars delivered to customers, ensuring seamless updates and enhancements to maintain product integrity and customer satisfaction. This role focuses on coordinating Field Action (FIA) processes specifically tailored for vehicles already in use by customers, bridging the gap between engineering teams and aftermarket service departments.
Rework Coordination:
The Update Coordinator is responsible for managing corrective actions required for production cars, ensuring seamless updates and enhancements to maintain product integrity and quality. This role focuses on coordinating Reworks processes specifically tailored for vehicles bridging the gap between engineering teams, quality, and manufacturing engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
FIA and Line Changes/Reworks Management:
Coordinate and facilitate FIA and Line changes/reworks, ensuring timely execution and adherence to quality standards.
Collaborate with Product Improvement (PI) engineers and relevant stakeholders to address issues and implement necessary modifications.
Cross-Functional Coordination:
Act as a connection between PI engineers and other departments including Purchasing, Planning, Legend Division (Aftermarket), Program, and testing teams.
Align activities and initiatives, facilitating effective planning and follow-up actions to achieve organizational objectives.
Prioritization and Planning:
Prioritize Line change/FIA activities based on criticality and impact, ensuring optimal resource allocation and timely resolution.
Develop comprehensive plans and schedules, plan and control budget, track progress, and address any deviations to meet project milestones.
Field Action/ Rework Supporting Documentation:
Prepare thorough documentation for field actions, define affected vehicles with planning support, create service packages, draft workshop letters, and specify order inputs.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation to support smooth implementation and compliance.
Field Action/Rework Implementation Tracking:
Establish robust tracking mechanisms to monitor the implementation of field actions/reworks across vehicles.
Provide clear visibility into the status of actions implemented.
Track vehicles with updates implemented to ascertain the extent of those updates for comprehensive reporting.
KPIs and Reporting:
Prepare KPI definition and report to relevant Stakeholders/ Management. Track and Report budget, and labor costs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project management, or related field.
Proven experience in aftermarket service operations, automotive engineering, or related fields.
Strong understanding of change management processes and quality management systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools for tracking and presenting project metrics like cost, KPIs, etc.
Ability to work under pressure and handle stressful situations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with aftermarket service procedures and customer support practices.
Expirience with line changes and related standards.
Knowledge of automotive industry standards and regulations related to aftermarket operations.
Certification in project management (PMP, CAPM, PRINCE2, etc.).
Familiarity with database management.
