About the job
Nouryon has an outstanding opportunity for an HSE Specialist in Stenungsund. The HSE Specialist is part of R&D at the Innovation Center in Stenungsund and focuses on the unique challenges associated with research laboratory and pilot plant operations. This role implements policies and strategies together with the Site management team as well as the R&D managers and employees to ensure full legal compliance and continuous improvement within all areas of Health, Safety, Security and Environment.
In your future role as you will
* Develop and improve HSE strategy for chemical R&D labs and pilot plants.
* Ensure compliance with Nouryon directives, policies, Swedish HSE&S, and labor laws.
* Support risk assessments and process safety management; lead MOCs, HAZOP studies, and incident investigations.
* Manage maintenance work orders, coordinate contractors, issue work permits, ensure safety.
* Provide safety training for lab personnel, contractors, and visitors.
* Implement occupational health programs, monitor exposure to hazards.
* Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and ensure corrective actions.
* Oversee handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemicals and waste.
* Promote continuous improvement in HSE practices through awareness and engagement.
We believe you bring
* Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
* Experience in HSE roles, preferably in chemical research, chemical process industry, or a related high-hazard industry.
* In-depth knowledge of chemical health risks, and relevant safety and environmental regulations.
* Familiarity with process safety management principles and chemical safety management systems.
* Experience with hazard identification and risk assessment in chemical processes, and root cause analysis.
* Swedish and English language fluency.

An individual with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and implement HSE strategies. You possess excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
