About the program

The Young Potential Trainee Program offers a learning journey like no other. We aim to kick-start your career by giving you deep and broad knowledge about Scania and the industry as a whole. The program is part of the TRATON GROUP which means we collaborate with other brands in a global setting. Through this collaboration we enable you to share knowledge and learnings across the brands, build a large network, learn about cultural differences, and grow as an individual. In this leadership program, we focus on teaching you how to lead yourself before leading others. We provide the tools to prepare and develop you for a future career in an international company. With rotations of your own choice, you tailor your trainee period according to your interests and skills, creating the perfect match for you to become the leader of tomorrow. A future visionary who contributes to making sustainable innovations happen.

Who are you?

You have an interest in leadership and have proven to have some leadership skills. Most of all, you are eager to continue to develop these skills professionally and to be a leader that utilizes the full potential of individuals and teams! You believe that sustainability is a way of living and we want you to take us even further on that journey.

What’s in it for you?

Employment from day one. Your base will most likely be at one of our offices in Södertälje, some remote work might be required/optional.

A 15-month program, with start 18 August 2025. You get a head start with five weeks onboarding to Scania, TRATON GROUP and the industry. A minimum of four, 2-3 month rotations at different departments/areas at Scania including a cross-brand rotation and a Scania Distributor Rotation.

Nine weeks of education referred to as “modules”. Each module have different focus areas and include dedicated learnings of self-awareness and self-development.

Common projects and network assignments with your trainee colleagues.

A program where you take lead in and shape your development with support from a managerial mentor.

Application

To qualify for the Young Potential Trainee Program, you have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and have graduated between 2023 and the summer of 2025. You have a maximum of 2 years of professional experience of work, within your field of studies, at the start of the program. Scania & TRATON Group have a global presence, for this reason, it is a prerequisite that you speak and write English fluently and other languages are seen as an advantage.

A complete application includes CV and a summary of grade records or your degree certificate. Incomplete applications will not be processed.

Foreign applicants

Since some assignments during the program will take place outside of Sweden for a minimum of three months, you need to be an EU/EES citizen or have a permanent residence permit in Sweden. Otherwise, we risk interfering with the migration laws. If you currently study outside of Sweden or have a foreign degree from your highest studies you need to get your degree verified by the Swedish Council for Higher Education. Please visit https://www.uhr.se/ to get recognition for your foreign qualifications. Note that this process can take up to six months.

Recruitment process

The first step in the recruitment process is a web-based psychometric test to get an unbiased screening. The tests will be sent to everyone who meets our basic requirements.

Timeplan:

Tests: 9 January- 14 January Interviews: 24 January- 31 January

Assessment days: 11 February or 12 February (depending on business area)

We then make a selection based on the test results. After that, we look at your CV, formal education/qualifications, and your previous experiences. If selected for an interview we also go into your professional interests and personal competencies.

After the interview we will perform an assessment day.
