Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Hydrocyclones Service Engineer to join our team. This role involves extensive travel within the Scandinavian region to support and follow up on our customers’ hydrocyclones and screen installations. The main objective is to perform mechanical inspections, process audits, maintenance services, process optimization, troubleshooting, fine-tuning, and training of customer operators’ staff. Additionally, the role includes direct involvement in service sales and technical support for customers and local sales teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively plan, communicate, and visit customers in the region.
- Perform mechanical inspections and process audits at customer sites.
- Install sold wear and spare parts at customer sites.
- Perform maintenance services and process optimization at customer sites.
- Troubleshoot and fine-tune installed equipment at customer sites.
- Train customer operators’ staff and provide technical support to local sales teams.
- Write objective service reports after every inspection/service, including findings and recommendations, and store them in M-files.
- Follow up on sales quotes (spare parts, field service, upgrades/rebuilds).
- Check customers’ inventory and make recommended spare parts lists.
- Identify potential upgrade/rebuild needs.
- Update and populate existing SPR equipment and improvements in the installed base.
- Generate HSE observations and CI reports.
Qualifications:
Knowledge with more than 1 years’ experience working with Hydrocyclones products.
Market and customer knowledge, basic IT tools knowledge, mechanical engineering skills, willingness to travel extensively.
- Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in a technical field or equivalent experience as well as knowledge of given process equipment and machinery in production environment from the pulp and paper industry.
- Ability to identify sales opportunities during troubleshooting discussions.
- Ability to inspect hydrocyclone parts and screen baskets.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments and adapting to changing priorities.
- Capability to work under time pressure, with a strong commitment and sense of responsibility.
- Good cooperation skills, social, open minded and service oriented. Hands-on attitude and not afraid of getting hands dirty.
- Ability and willingness to learn new software tools. Basic understanding of simulation and process calculations are expected.
- 1-2 years’ experience from working with a business system.
- Fluent computer usage and proficiency in various software programs.
- Good communication skills in English, both written and oral are expected.
- Willingness to travel overnight.
- The position requires a great deal of independent work. A proactive attitude to fill in your own agenda is expected.
In addition, you communicate fluently both verbally and in writing in one of the languages of your region. You have good communication and negotiation skills, which enable you to operate in a business environment. IT and automation skills would be highly appreciated, as we are developing and adding remote condition monitoring capabilities to these products.
