The field of insurance medicine includes medical examination and investigation, assessment of functional status and activity level, and preventive, therapeutic and rehabilitative interventions linked to insurance decisions and their impact on the individual. It is based on multidisciplinary knowledge and proven experience and the interrelationship between morbidity, medicine and insurance systems.

Subject area description
The tasks primarily involve research in own projects with a focus on prevention and clinical intervention studies, method development and development of research in collaboration between health care and employers. The tasks may also include teaching in insurance medicine in the medical programme, and master's programmes in global health and public health science. Some administration related to research and teaching may be included in the tasks.

Eligibility
The eligibility criteria for employing teaching staff are set out in the Higher Education Ordinance and in the Appointment Procedure for Teaching Posts at the University of Gothenburg.
Qualified for employment as a senior lecturer are those who have demonstrated pedagogical expertise and who have obtained a doctoral degree or have equivalent scientific expertise or other expertise that is of significance with regard to the subject content of the employment and the tasks to be included in the employment.
Ability to teach in Swedish and English is a requirement.
Assessment criteria
The assessment criteria for employing teaching staff are set out in the Higher Education Ordinance and in the Appointment Procedure for Teaching Posts at the University of Gothenburg.
In assessment, academic and teaching skills are weighted equally. Administrative skills and ability to cooperate are weighted in third place.
When assessing scientific expertise, particular emphasis will be placed on the quality and originality of the applicant's publications in peer-reviewed international journals and the ability to obtain research grants in national and international competition. When assessing the academic skills, special emphasis will be placed on the quality and originality of the applicant's publications in peer-reviewed international journals and the ability to obtain research grants in national and international competition. Research focused on the development of new interventions for prevention and clinical care and controlled trials and evaluation of such interventions is particularly desirable. Research focusing on the interaction between health care and working life is meritorious. The ability to conduct both quantitative and qualitative research is an asset.
When assessing teaching skills, special emphasis will be placed on demonstrated and documented ability to lead courses at undergraduate, advanced and within the subject area. Doctoral student supervision is also considered meritorious. The skill must be documented in such a way that the ability can be assessed.
Docent competence is meritorious.
Administrative skills and the ability to cooperate and collaborate are important for the position, for example through demonstrated and documented ability in teaching teams to lead courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level and documented ability to handle large register data.

Permanent employment, full time 100 %. The position and is located at The Institute of Medicine. First day of employment as agreed.
