Finance > Region NCE > Group Tax > Accounting & Tax Compliance

The Regional Finance and Regional Tax teams in the region Northern and Central Europe (NCE) together cover the full scope of Finance, Accounting, Tax, and Business Performance Management. The Accounting & Tax Compliance team, where the open position is placed, is responsible for ensuring compliance with local statutory accounting and supporting selected corporate income tax obligations in the various countries. Furthermore, the team contributes to the quarterly tax reporting to headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark, as well as acting as a Business Partner for various projects. The NCE region covers around 35 legal entities within a wide geographical span, e.g., from Scandinavia in the North, the UK and Ireland in the West, Central Europe, and some entities in Eastern Europe. The wide span of legal entities, in combination with a centralized Finance function in the regional head office in Hamburg (and satellite offices in Sweden, the UK, Poland, etc.), requires the Finance team to be structured, dynamic, and open-minded for close collaboration with local advisors and auditors in the various countries.

As an Accounting Specialist, you will be part of the Accounting & Tax Compliance Team within the Regional Finance department in the NCE region. You will collaborate closely with the different Finance functions in the region, our shared service center in Manila, and various stakeholders in other functions inside and outside Vestas.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure local accounting compliance, focusing on our entities in Sweden, Finland, Norway, and Denmark, while also supporting other parts of the region
  • Manage relationships with local authorities, statutory auditors, and advisors
  • Prepare statutory accounts as well as manage statutory audits
  • Reconcile IFRS Group Accounts to local statutory accounts
  • Stay up to date with local accounting regulations and support compliance improvement initiatives in Finance and towards the business
  • Support timely and accurate quarterly closing processes, including assisting with current and deferred tax calculations and submitting reporting packages to headquarters in Denmark
  • Support tax audits

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience from an audit company, accounting provider, or a similar function in an international company
  • A degree in Senior Accountancy, Auditing, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent qualification
  • Solid understanding of accounting regulations
  • Knowledge and experience with SAP ERP FI&CO module is beneficial
  • Proficient in verbal and written English and one of the Nordic languages

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.), with added value for skills and interest in utilizing new technologies to improve existing processes
  • A structured and organized way of working, with the ability to take ownership, work independently, and deliver with high quality
  • Interested in problem-solving, finding solutions, and getting things done
  • Positive attitude, proactive approach, and good collaboration skills
  • Stakeholder management skills and the ability to maintain an overview in a dynamic international environment while meeting deadlines
  • Tax and transfer pricing knowledge (beneficial but not mandatory)
