zOpen team Job Title Linux and z/VM System Admin/Technician Domain & Sub Domain Mainframe - zOpen Job Description You will be working with Linux on the z platform (Mainframe) as well as z/VM. You are probably a Linux technician with an interest of mainframe. As a Mainframe Engineer, you will be part of a multicultural team of European, American and Indian coworkers. You will be responsible for customer environments and for different products. You will take care of the different aspects of the life cycle of these products installation, customization and maintenance. The mission also includes customer contacts, incident handling, problem solving, performance and change management, and development and documentation of operational procedures. Linux Operating system Good knowledge. z/VM technology Good knowledge. IBM WebSphere application server or other application servers like Jboss. System design, implementation and documentation. System monitoring, problem analysis and tuning. Problem isolations and resolution. Scripting and PHP. Knowledge of z/OS especially USS is a plus. The candidate selected for this role will have the Skills to Maintain and demonstrate a working knowledge of Linux, especially the Red-Hat distro. Manage the activities related to backup, archive and recovery. Use software tools on both mainframe and PC platforms. Maintenance and tuning of Linux and z/OS based tools, software, etc. Design, install, maintain and operate Linux Report unresolved software anomalies to the team leader and the appropriate vender. AD LDAP usage skills is a plus RedHat Satellite is a plus The candidate selected for this role will have the Ability to Install, maintain and monitor Linux systems and products for performance enhancements. Review, analyze, and resolve product problems. Read, interpret and implement established specifications. Apply problem-solving skills sufficient to independently perform fault isolation and initiate corrective action. Read and interpret technical and business information. Education BE, BTECH, ME, MTECH, MCA or matching knowledge/skill level achieved in other ways. Location India Chennai or Bangalore Language Requirement English (1.) To participate or contribute on EN business in creation of proposals to drive Service improvement plans. (4.) To provide support for on call escalations /L3 level support and doing incident & problem management (6.) Work on value adding activities such Knowledge base update & management, Training freshers, coaching analysts & conducting interviews/participation in hiring drives.
