You will be part of the Mechanical Design Team at MAX IV, supporting the organisation of the 13th International Conference on Mechanical Engineering Design of Synchrotron Radiation Equipment and Instrumentation (http://www.
medsi2025.com), which will take place in Lund from September 15th to 19th, 2025.

MAX IV is looking for a Summer Worker – Conference Support to assist in the preparation and execution of MEDSI 2025 conference. This role provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in organizing an international conference while working in a dynamic research environment. If you enjoy problem-solving, interacting with people from all over the world, and working in a fast-paced setting, this position is for you!
Part-time: 50% starting earliest 1 July and ending latest 19 September.
Your main work tasks will be
- Managing the conference and sponsor email accounts
- Handling inquiries related to delegate registrations and sponsorships
- Providing basic troubleshooting for participants and sponsors
- Updating the conference website and preparing documents
- Helping with logistics and preparation in the week leading up to the conference
- Supporting the registration desk, help desk, and other tasks during the conference.
To be successful in this role you need to have the following qualifications
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency in basic IT tools (email, document preparation, website updates)
- You must be a minimum of 18 years.
Below are seen as merits
- Experience in organizing or participating in large-scale events
- Skills in graphic design and formatting documents/websites
- Background in mechanical design (not required but appreciated)
As a person you are service-minded and proactive. In your work you are detailed and structured and have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. MAX IV is a Swedish national large-scale research infrastructure hosted by Lund University. It provides scientists from Sweden and abroad, with intense x-rays and state-of-the-art instrumentation for research in areas such as engineering, physics, structural biology, chemistry and nanotechnology.
