Principal Product Designer

The RoleAs a Principal Product Designer, you will be focused on driving the vision and overall strategy of Product Design at Viaplay as well as elevating the product across mobile, web and TV in a newly formed team whose mission is to create visually dynamic and engaging experience for our customers. In your role, you will ensure we have an efficient and sustainable strategy for product design across all platforms.
You will split your time being hands-on within a cross-functional team, and collaborate closely with the design guild and the other platform guilds to ensure best design practices and processes. You will work to ensure a brand-wide consistency and delightful experience for our customers now and in the future. You will design cutting-edge concepts as well as feature improvements, and it will all provide lots of challenges and fun.
You will ensure our design solutions are aligned with industry standards, accessibility guidelines, and modern design frameworks. You stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously elevate our design standards.
We are looking for a designer with a strong portfolio in digital product design. You are passionate about pushing the boundaries, have a solid experience in multi-platform design, are a strong advocate for the design process, and want to be part of a fun team working to transform the streaming experience for our customers.
More specifically, you have:
- Experience: Strong background working with user experience and user interface design, preferably at various companies
- Platform knowledge: Experience designing for mobile, tablets and web
- Collaboration: Experience working in cross-functional teams. Eager to include other designers, researchers, product managers, developers, and stakeholders in the design process to gather input and diverse perspectives
- UI: Confident creating visual designs based on company brand guidelines and design system
- UX: Incorporate design principles and apply intuitive user-centric design solutions based on user insights gathered from quantitative and qualitative research
- Design process: Experience contributing to the complete product development lifecycle. Familiar with different design methods and ability to apply and adapt
- Tool: Expert knowledge of Figma as it is the main design tool we use in the company
- Research: Knowledge and experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research (e.g. User interviews, usability testings, surveys)
- Design system: Creating and maintaining
- Prototyping: Using various design tools to create prototypes to communicate and validate design solutions
- Experience with Stakeholder management
- Experience working with Design Strategy
