Team Lead pCAM
Northvolt has an exciting role for a Team Lead pCAM. We are looking for a Cathode Expert to join our team at Northvolt in Sweden.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing industrialized cathode material for Li-ion batteries. You will work closely with the Process and Quality teams to ensure our cathode material meets the highest standards.
We are looking for someone with a deep understanding of inorganic chemistry and cathode material for Li-ion batteries. You should have a proven track record of driving large and innovative development projects in this field.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Carry out experiments to optimise the performance of Northvolt's in-house precursor and Cathode Active Material (CAM), encompassing both the chemical composition and the processing parameters used in the various manufacturing steps.
- Ensure material preparation and characterization including external material benchmark. Analyse materials characterisation and electrochemical data to evaluate the performance of different CAM samples.
- Ensure delivery of development progress for following-up team's objectives (e.g., milestones)
- Facilitate communication and clarification of technical requirements between customers and Northvolt's internal stakeholders
- Support industrial-scale CAM manufacturing and recycling operations through targeted investigations and deep-dives.
- Lead, plan and manage day to day technical task of the respective groups and allocate task and responsibility across their team members
Skills & Requirements
Education/Experience
- MSc or PhD in Chemical Engineering /Material Engineering, or Chemistry/Physics
- Demonstrated expertise and success in the development of cathode materials
- At least 5 years experience cathode active materials within R&D, or in inorganic chemistry is required
- Must have worked in a multi-cultural environment
- Experience and interest in manufacturing industry is a plus
Specific Skills/Abilities
- Excellent English written and oral skills, Swedish is a plus
