The corporation is a pioneering Green Steel Production Company who are constructing a plant in Northern Sweden that will produce Green Steel – Green Steel production emits up to 95% less CO₂ compared conventional steel production.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Supply Chain Strategy & Development
- Design and establish a robust end-to-end supply chain structure tailored for a mega construction project.
- Develop and implement Lean supply chain strategies to enhance efficiency, eliminate waste, and improve overall workflow.
- Set up procurement, logistics, warehousing, and material handling processes to ensure project success.
- Establish KPIs and performance metrics to track supply chain efficiency and effectiveness.
2. Procurement & Supplier Management
- Develop and manage procurement policies that align with project needs, budget constraints, and quality standards.
- Source and negotiate with key suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure cost-effective and high-quality materials.
- Establish long-term supplier relationships and risk mitigation strategies for supply chain continuity.
- Optimize supplier contracts to include Just-in-Time (JIT) delivery models to minimize excess inventory.
3. Logistics & Inventory Management
- Implement Lean warehousing and logistics systems to ensure seamless material flow.
- Develop inventory control strategies, including Kanban and pull-based systems, to reduce waste and storage costs.
- Oversee transportation and distribution networks to ensure on-time delivery and optimal routing.
- Utilize digital tools and supply chain management software for real-time tracking and analytics.
4. Lean & Process Optimization
- Apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies to streamline workflows and eliminate inefficiencies.
- Conduct value stream mapping (VSM) to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen) to sustain operational excellence.
- Develop training programs to upskill team members in Lean supply chain practices.
5. Compliance, Risk Management & Sustainability
- Ensure compliance with local and international construction supply chain regulations.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks related to cost fluctuations, material shortages, and delays.
- Promote sustainable procurement and green supply chain practices to support ESG goals.
- Implement health, safety, and quality control measures in material handling and logistics.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-8 years of experience in supply chain management, preferably in large-scale construction, infrastructure, or EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects.
- Proven expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Lean Construction, and Six Sigma methodologies(certification preferred).
- Strong experience in procurement, contract negotiations, and supplier management.
- Knowledge of ERP systems, supply chain analytics, and digital transformation tools.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to build and develop a high-performing team.
- Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and analytical skills.
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS
- Lean Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt)
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) (Preferred, not mandatory)
- APICS, CIPS, or similar supply chain certifications
