Meat Department Manager
Manages supervisors, butchers and meat wrappers. Monitors operations and tackles inefficiencies. Ensures department procedures are followed such as health & safety. Upholds high member services. Prepares business plans and develops managerial strategies to meet targets.
- Provides training programs, ensures that schedules answer department’s needs.
- Directs and advises employees regarding performance and participates in the daily production. Checks quality and consistency of finished product. Oversees product presentation and merchandising.
- Observes employee performance to ensure proper department production procedures and standards are followed. Drafts and participates in presentation of employee performance appraisals. Makes recommendations for hiring, promotions and termination of employment to the Warehouse Manager.
- Implements and upholds safety and security procedures. Reviews sanitation log and checks for health code compliance, such as sanitation standards, temperatures, and pull dates.
- Develops and presents comprehensive sales and merchandising plans to meet sales targets. Determines production requirements based on income statements.
- Ensures that proper department procedures are being followed such as health and safety.
- Ensures the reliability and the safety of the equipment. Schedules orders and repairs as needed.
- Supports the management team in ad-hoc location security checks and alarm callouts, as required
