Optical Reliability Test Engineer to Stockholm

The Role In the early phase of a project developing a new product, the Optical Reliability Test Engineer (ORTE) will define the reliability test scope and prepare a test plan. Typically, the products are tested versus applicable parts of Telcordia GR-468. The ORTE is then responsible for the execution of the tests, which may be conducted either in company labs or at external test houses. Data analysis and reporting of the results is an important part of this work. The ORTE will then provide recommendations for further improvement of reliability. If the company receives RMAs from customers, the ORTE is typically involved in the failure analysis and corrective action reporting. Besides reliability testing, the ORTE will also contribute to the general development work, with a particular emphasis on optics. This may include optical design as well as performance measurements and data mining to build statistics. Reporting This role reports to the CTO. We are looking for a person who has: •M.Sc. Degree in Physics, specialized in Photonics •A passion for photonics with a good theoretical understanding of involved physics and technologies •At least one year’s experience of reliability testing of photonics components for industrial applications •Competence in simulation, failure analysis and FMEA modelling •Hands-on work experience from photonics labs •Experienced in python scripting for automation of test setups •Fluent in configuring and performing advanced measurements • Fully professional in analyzing, documenting and presenting results, emphasizing conclusions •Competence in multi-physics simulations is meriting •Experience of an international, cross-functional work environment •Strong Doer in the Lab with Teamwork Spirit •Programming: Matlab, Python, VB.NET, (C/C++) •Language: English, full professional proficiency You are Offered •An exciting journey with a newly established R&D company in Sweden •The opportunity to help shape the future of optical communication solutions •A high level of expertise and the chance to learn from the best •A dynamic work environment where things happen quickly and you get to do a lot About Our ClientOur client is an innovative start-up company in optical communication solutions.
