About NitroCapt

NitroCapt is a climate-tech innovator revolutionizing one of the world’s largest chemical processes: The nitrogen fertilizer production. Using only air, water, and renewable energy, we create the world’s most sustainable and cost-efficient technology for fixation of nitrogen from the air to make fertilizers.

As global demand for food increases, nitrogen—essential for plant growth—plays a crucial role. However, today’s nitrogen fertilizer industry is heavily reliant on fossil fuels, contributing to CO2 emissions equivalent to those of the global aviation industry.

Our award-winning solution offers a rapid pathway to a decarbonized nitrogen fertilizer industry, providing a business model that not only reduces emissions but also increases profitability for our customers compared to fossil-based fertilizers, and contributes to a resilient food production. We are now looking for a Microwave Application Engineer to join our team in Uppsala, Sweden.

As a Microwave Application Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development and optimization of microwave plasma systems. You will be involved in simulations, hands-on testing, supplier collaborations, and scaling microwave power solutions for our technology.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct HFSS & RF simulations and analyze microwave-plasma interactions.
  • Work with suppliers and academic partners to optimize microwave and electric field properties.
  • Prepare technical documentation to support supplier discussions and project planning.
  • Contribute to microwave power scaling efforts in our systems.
  • Participate in hands-on experimental testing of microwave plasma setups.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or similar).
  • Theoretical understanding of microwave-based plasma and electrical discharges.
  • High proficiency in electromagnetics and high voltage energy systems.
  • Ideally 5+ years of R&D experience
  • Experience with microwave systems and with testing of microwave plasma experimental set-ups.
  • Proficient in HFSS and RF simulation tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with suppliers and researchers.

Our offer

  • A unique opportunity to have a positive impact on the climate and the world.
  • A generous option program, allowing to take part in the future economic growth of the company.
  • To be part of a dynamic, purpose-driven, international team that is highly innovative and solution oriented.
  • Collaborate with world-class partners and become a key person in our deep tech innovation mission.
