Test Manager SAP

A leading company in the paper and pulp industry is currently undergoing a major transformation through the implementation of a new ERP system (SAP S/4HANA). The goal is to optimize business processes, improve cross-departmental information flow, and strengthen data management capabilities.

To support this transition, we are seeking an experienced Test Manager who will play a key role in managing the testing efforts of the program. This position includes leading the test leads across different process teams and coordinating testing activities with other supporting teams, such as infrastructure, legacy system owners, and the deployment team. The overall responsibility for the ERP implementation and testing lies with an external partner, meaning you will work closely with the partner’s Test Manager according to a jointly defined responsibility matrix.

As Test Manager, you will drive all aspects from strategy and planning to the execution of User Acceptance Testing (UAT). You will also be responsible for enhancing the program’s methodology in the area of testing.

The main office location is in Solna, but operations are also based in Sweden, Finland, and the United States, so some travel will be required.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Test Management:

• Develop and maintain a test strategy that supports the transition to SAP S/4HANA and ensures integration with other systems.
• Create and improve methodologies suited for both purchased and custom-built systems.

Process and Method Development:

• Evaluate current testing processes and identify areas for improvement.
• Implement best practices to improve the quality and efficiency of testing activities.
• Establish and maintain testing standards across the organization.

Project Management within Testing:

• Oversee all phases of testing in the SAP consolidation project to ensure thorough and efficient execution.
• Take primary responsibility for managing the User Acceptance Testing phase.
• Manage resources, timelines, and budgets related to testing.

Leadership and Team Development:

• Build and lead a test team while enhancing skills and knowledge within the team.
• Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Act as the main point of contact between the test team, other internal departments, and external vendors.
• Communicate testing strategies, progress, and results clearly to various stakeholders.

Technology and Tools:

• Implement and manage testing tools that are compatible with SAP S/4HANA and other systems.
• Stay updated on trends and innovations in testing and SAP solutions.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred.

Experience:

• 10+ years of proven experience in test management, preferably within the process industry or similar sectors.
• Solid experience with ERP implementations, particularly SAP S/4HANA.
• Experience working with both custom-built and off-the-shelf systems and their integration challenges.
• Familiarity with developing and adapting fit-for-purpose testing methods.
• Hands-on experience with SAP Solution Manager/Focused Build is required.
• Fluent in English and Swedish, both spoken and written.
