At Candela, we design and build electric hydrofoil boats and ferries with performance previously unheard of in the industry. Our mission is to accelerate the transition to fossil fuel-free lakes and oceans.
The Candela P-12 is our latest innovation—the world’s first electric hydrofoil ferry in operation, serving commuters in Stockholm and soon expanding to several other countries. By combining lightweight carbon fiber hulls, sensors, computers, and advanced submerged hydrofoils, our vessels fly above the water, delivering unmatched efficiency compared to conventional diesel ferries.
We are now looking for a Painter to support Candela’s growth ambitions.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Cleaning and sanding the carbon fiber prior to painting.
- Prime, apply filler, sand and prepare the parts for paint.
- Using spray-painting to paint the surfaces.
- Wet sanding and polishing the painted surfaces.
- Maintaining technical equipment for the job and ensuring that they are in working order.
- Follow company guidelines and safety protocols.
To be successful in the role:
You have previous experience from working as a painter in an industry environment where focus has been on finish and precision. You can learn fast and adapt fast to changes and are willing to be part of an ambitious team with a high working pace and short decision paths. Lastly, as everyone else in the company, you think the products we are developing and producing are really cool!
Required qualifications
- Experience of working with air spray guns priming and painting in an industrial environment (Preferable experience with cars, trucks or boat painting).
- Able to do masking, cleaning with degreaser, antistatic gun. Touch ups with cotton brush.
- Interest in and/or experience from setting up a painting process. This includes defining the needs from a health & safety, facility, and tools perspective.
- To be physically allowed to work in an environment where you are exposed to dust particles and chemicals - being comfortable to work in full head to toe PPE
- To be able to stand for extended periods and work hands-on as well as working within tight spaces
- Be able to communicate in English as it is required in your daily work
- Be comfortable working in a 2 shift schedule (8 hour shifts: mornings, afternoons)

This is a full-time position at our factory in Rotebro with a start date after the summer (mid-end of August).
