At Scania’s Vehicle Architecture section, we work at the heart of early-phase product development—designing modular truck architecture and layout that support multiple brands while enabling innovation, performance, and flexibility.

Our group focuses on architectural investigations, strategic concept development and layout & package studies, collaborating across Scania, MAN, and other TRATON brands. We are a team of 16 skilled layout engineers and architects, working in three collaborative sub-teams. Job Responsibilities

In this role, you will be one of the key players creating and maintaining a complete vehicle architectural strategy for our VCT Vehicle Architecture. You will contribute to our architectural roadmap work for our common TMS to ensure a complete vehicle composition over time.

Among others, you will be:

• Leading cross functional architectural and layout investigations as well as property trade-offs on a complete vehicle level
• Conducting technical dependency studies of project initiatives in an early phase (blue/yellow arrow) and identify new focus groups for VA
• Conducting Architecture trade-off analysis
• Supporting to visualize how the main interfaces are managed over time
• Aligning and harmonizing architectural recommendations together with other VCT System Architects and VCF Solution Architects
• Supporting our cross VCF Architecture Working Group

In your daily work, you will work closely with our other Vehicle Architecture Chief Architects and Layout Engineers in your domain. The global network with our brands, VCTs and VCFs is also part of your daily collaboration.

This role offers the chance to collaborate with different brands and departments, bridging design, engineering, and innovation. You will play a vital part in translating business needs and technical requirements into smart, scalable design concepts.

Who You Are

You are an experienced analytical thinker with a passion for modularity. You thrive on collaboration, but you’re also confident working independently and taking initiative. You enjoy working at the intersection of concept, design, and systems thinking, with the ability to both zoom out and focus on technical details.

We believe you’ll succeed if you bring:

• A university degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in mechanical, automotive or system engineering
• High Level of Technical Leadership Experience with previous experience as Senior Designer / Architect
• Deep knowledge of the modular system as a concept
• Previous work experience in the automotive industry or a relevant cross-functional environment
• Experience working with Visio, Matlab and Catia V5
• Excellent communication skills in English; Swedish is a plus
• A proactive mindset, with the ability to plan and organize your own and others’ deliveries
