Embedded Software Developer – Integrating Advanced Control Systems

SVAB is growing and we are looking for an experienced Embedded Software Developer to join our dynamic team in Åsbro. In this role, you will primarily focus on integrating our innovative tiltrotator and work tool control systems with excavators' CAN-bus interfaces. Our embedded solutions are critical for enhancing the ergonomics, safety, and efficiency of construction machinery globally.

About the Role

You will work hands-on with embedded real-time software development, integrating sophisticated onboard control systems into excavator CAN-bus networks. Your responsibilities include close interaction with international customers, onsite testing, and debugging in Europe and Asia. Strong communication skills, self-motivation, and a problem-solving mindset are key to thriving in this position.

Your Skills & Experience

To succeed in this role, you should have:

• Embedded C/C++ Development: Solid experience developing embedded software on RTOS platforms (ARM and PIC processors), including system engineering, programming, and release.
• CAN Protocols: Extensive knowledge of CANopen and J1939 standards, specifically with SPNs, PGNs, and DM1 diagnostics.
• Testing and Debugging: Practical experience with integration testing at the vehicle level, CAN network diagnostics, and offline/online analysis of logged CAN data.
• Tools & Methodologies: Familiarity with standard version control (Git, SVN), software debugging tools, and functional safety practices.
• Lab Equipment Proficiency: Experience using electronic laboratory instruments such as oscilloscopes and signal generators.
