Quality Engineer RnD

About the job

As Quality Engineer in the RnD Team, you will be responsible for test and quality assurance within your development team. In total there are 8 different development teams within RnD at Novacura.

You will make sure that all new features in our products meet the requirements before they are delivered to our customers and you create both manual and automated tests when needed. You also coach your team members and colleagues in testing and quality assurance methodology.

As a Quality Engineer you will be responsible for:

• Lead and execute comprehensive test strategies.
• Mentor and guide junior QA team members.
• Conduct complex testing, including performance and security testing.
• Collaborate with all teams to understand product features.
• Make high-level decisions on test automation and tooling.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives across the organization.

You will be located in Gothenburg and work closely with our agile teams in Poland and Sri Lanka. The position reports to R&D QA Manager.

About you

You have a good understanding of testing activities in the Software Development Lifecycle and the ability to apply software testing concepts into practice. You have a good understanding of Agile methodologies and knowledge of testing tools and processes. In this role it is important that you share your experience and insights, and act as a mentor for less experienced teammates. We expect you to have the ability to drive and create commitment as well as manage critical thinking. You have a passion for quality and you are eager to learn new things and develop your skills.

Other qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance
• 3+ years of experience working with automated tests
• University degree within computer science or equivalent area
• Fluency in English, written and spoken
• Experience in Test Automation: Appium, Playwright with C#
• Introducing and leading high-level test approach into the development team and organization
• Agile mindset and holistic approach in testing
• CI/CD knowledge
• Analytical and problem-solving skills

Good to have:

• Testing certificates (e.g. ISTQB), or testing-related trainings
• Practical experience in load tests
• Experience with Azure DevOps
• Experience with tools like: App Center, BrowserStack
