Senior Full Stack Engineer

At Appostrophe, we build SCRL, a leading design tool for photo editing and collage making. Our app is used by millions of people worldwide, and now we’re taking the next step: bringing SCRL to the web. We’re looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to help us build the web version of SCRL.

About the role

You’ll be working on both the completely new frontend of our new web-based platform. Our mobile apps on iOS and Android are already hugely successful, and now we’re expanding SCRL to the desktop with a browser-based version. This means tackling a range of challenges, from advanced image and video manipulation, to building a powerful design editor in Javascript. You’ll play a key role in shaping the architecture and implementation of our web experiences, working across the entire stack.

What you will do

• Build the frontend of our new browser-based design editor, with a focus on a smooth and intuitive user experience.
• Contribute to our backend services, including authentication, accounts, and image storage, using Node.js and Postgres.
• Collaborate closely with our mobile engineers and designers to create a great cross-platform experience.
• Take ownership of the services and help define the technical direction.

What we’re looking for

• Experience with Node.js and modern Javascript/TypeScript frameworks.
• Experience building complex, user-facing web applications.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud, or equivalent cloud platforms.
• Ability to work independently.
