Our values – Customer First, Respect, Team Spirit, Responsibility, and Elimination of Waste – guide everything we do as we push the boundaries of innovation and environmental responsibility.
About the role
Our group, Inner Maneuvering (TGRPDTI), is a vital part of TRATON’s propulsion development organization. We design and test cutting-edge components that deliver best-in-class gearshifting performance, enabling engines and e-machines to operate at peak efficiency and minimize energy consumption. Our work spans both advanced e-mobility solutions and conventional powertrain technology.
As a Design Engineer, you will take ownership of hardware components from concept to production, ensuring they meet demanding performance and sustainability targets. You will collaborate with colleagues across disciplines, work closely with internal departments and suppliers, and contribute to both electrification and conventional powertrain projects.

- Create and refine component designs and drawings using CATIA V5.
- Collaborate with assembly, machining, sourcing, and supplier teams to ensure optimal manufacturability and quality.
- Work closely with engineers responsible for adjacent systems to ensure seamless integration.
- Define requirements for simulation and testing, evaluating results against performance and durability demands based on real-world truck usage.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
Your Profile
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Design Engineer.
- Proficiency in CATIA V5 or similar CAD software.
- Academic degree in engineering (mechanical, automotive, or related field).
- Strong command of written and spoken English.

Why join TRATON?
- Work in a collaborative, innovative environment alongside passionate colleagues.
- Be part of shaping the future of sustainable mobility.
- Hybrid work options for flexibility.
- Competitive benefits, including performance bonus and wellness allowance.
- Opportunities for professional growth and development.
