Join us as a Studio Engineer in our unit at Traton Group R&D. Working close with the Scania Brand Identity Development - Scania Design Studio and the other sister brands. You will play a crucial role in creating sustainable, premium product experiences for the future, aligned with the Industrial Design (I.D) Strategy.

Job Responsibilities

• Release Digital Shape Models (DSM) to engineering.

• Gather part criteria and additional input, and communicate effectively with all involved stakeholders.

• Develop and evaluate proposals, solutions, and concepts from industrial design and engineering through sketches and CAD.

• Create and maintain a strong network within the team and with other departments.

• Push issues regarding Technical Design Quality (TDQ) vehicle property and work to meet target sets.

Who are you

• You have at least five years of experience in product development and construction within plastic or sheet metal.

• You understand the development of a vehicle and how your solutions/components affect and depend on others.

• You communicate clearly and effectively, maintaining a professional and respectful approach.

• You have a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and take the initiative to address issues directly and ensure high-quality standards.

• High-level CAD knowledge of Catia/Enovia is essential. Knowledge of different manufacturing methods and industrial design is also required.

• A master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Automotive Design, or a related field is required.

This is us

The Design Architecture & Digital Models global unit at ID & HMI Operations is responsible for creating digital models for a-class surfaces from concept level to production surfaces, the unit is also responsible for appearance approval reports for Scania products. This unit also includes Surface Designers, Design quality specialists and CAD model preparation. The team serves as the technical link between the design departments, engineering units, and other cross-functions. It ensures that the products launched by Traton meet customer expectations. The team is involved in development work throughout all phases, both in detail and overall. They work closely with engineering and object management to stay updated on ongoing activities and product changes. This unit also includes Surface Designers and Design Quality specialists.
