QA Engineer – Streaming & Personalization (Future assignment)

Role description

You will ensure end-to-end quality for recommendation, experimentation, and real-time analytics services in a microservice, event-driven environment. The scope spans data ingestion through to client experience on mobile and web, with a focus on robust automation, clear release criteria, and measurable outcomes. Full-time assignment.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute test strategy across data pipelines, services, and client applications.
• Validate experiments and A/B flows, including targeting, telemetry, and result integrity.
• Test microservices and streaming events (e.g., Kafka/Kinesis), including contract tests.
• Build and maintain automated tests in CI/CD for web and mobile.
• Drive test planning, risk analysis, and release readiness in cross-functional teams.
• Monitor data quality and system health using modern observability practices.
• Produce clear defect reports and test summaries.

Requirements

• 4+ years of QA/testing experience in distributed systems.
• Strong API and contract testing skills; experience with Postman/newman and Pact or similar.
• Test automation for web and mobile: Cypress or Playwright; Appium, XCUITest, or Espresso.
• Solid understanding of observability and logging (Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry).
• Comfortable with Jira/Confluence and concise, evidence-based reporting.
• Experience testing microservices and event streams (Kafka/Kinesis).

Meriting

• Hands-on with A/B platforms, feature flags, and experiment analysis.
• Familiarity with data-pipeline tooling (dbt, Airflow) and SQL/Python.
• Performance and network testing for media playback and CDN behaviors.
