People Relations Manager
Job Description
WHAT YOU WILL DO
As a People Relations Manager with responsibility covering Employee Relations and Labour Relations, you will shape and strengthen H&M Group’s long-term capabilities within labour relations, labour law, work environment and human rights. You will set the strategic direction for the People Relations area, build teams and ensure that our ways of working enable the business to stay future-fit and compliant in an ever-evolving landscape.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading a core People Relations team and collaborating with a broad network of leaders and experts across multiple functions.
- Ensuring that H&M Group has robust capabilities and ways of working that meet business needs within labour relations, labour law, risk management, steering, policy and people governance.
- Developing and executing the People Relations strategy in alignment with H&M Group’s overarching goals and values.
- Creating and updating social policies to secure compliance across the organisation.
- Maintaining a holistic operational view and driving crossfunctional collaboration on People Relations initiatives.
- Monitoring global trends in HR and labour relations to continuously refine strategies in response to new requirements and legislation.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You will work closely with leaders across the People domain, including business leaders, HR specialists and subject-matter experts in labour law, work environment and human rights. You will also collaborate with global People teams and cross-functional partners to ensure alignment, compliance and consistent ways of working across the organisation.
WHO YOU ARE
You are a visionary and strategic HR leader who thrives in complex, international environments. You are comfortable challenging established approaches and turning insights into clear, effective workflows that enable sustainable business results.
You bring:
- 10+ years of experience within within Employee Relations, Labour Relations, Labour Law, HR or Organisational Development with experience from multinational organisations.
- A strong track record of leading in large, international settings and managing diverse teams across locations.
- Experience navigating cross‑border employee relations issues and understanding dependencies between different countries’ legal frameworks.
- A strategic and analytical mindset with the ability to translate insights into actionable solutions.
- A collaborative and innovative approach to leadership, with the confidence to challenge conventions when needed.
- High emotional intelligence and the ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism, discretion and sound judgement.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Fluency in English.
