Software Developer - Media Player & Embedded

We’re now looking for a Software Developer to join the team working at the core of our technology – developing and evolving the media player that powers our business brands: Grassfish, Dise, and Visual Art.

You will contribute to the development and maintenance of the Media Player, which is a hardware-agnostic, JavaScript-based media player application that runs on a wide range of devices and enables media playout, remote control, and monitoring of Digital Signage deployments.

You’ll join a strong, cross-functional development team focused on our shared IXM platform and player, internally known as IXM Grid team.

We are looking for a passionate developer with a strong problem-solving mindset, a drive for innovation, and a solid technical foundation. You are curious, hands-on, and enjoy building reliable software that works in real-world environments. You enjoy learning and sharing knowledge and thrive when working both independently and as part of a team. You are comfortable contributing across different parts of the development process – from implementation to testing and maintenance.

• 3–5+ years of experience in application or systems-oriented development

• Programming experience in TypeScript, JavaScript and any frontend framework (we use Svelte)

• Experience developing for SoC-based platforms such as Samsung Tizen, LG WebOS, Raspberry Pi, BrightSign and Android

• Experience building or working with applications that run continuously with near zero downtime.

• Basic understanding of networking (TCP/IP, local networks, device communication)

• Familiarity with DevOps practices such as CI/CD pipelines and GitHub workflows

• Strong communication skills in English

• Basic understanding of development across different device environments (e.g. Windows, Linux, x86, ARM), and how software interacts with physical hardware

• Experience with Android, Kotlin and Android application development

• Experience with tools such as Postman, Playwright, and writing scripts

• Hardware-adjacent development (e.g. embedded systems, IoT, sensors etc)

• Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g. code assistants, AI-based debugging, or productivity tools) as support in software development

• Strong communication skills in Swedish

TypeScript, JavaScript, and Svelte, using Vite for building, Vitest for unit testing, and Playwright for end-to-end testing.
