Your team

You will join the Collaborations Office, working closely with colleagues in the Access and Collaborations Group. The role involves daily interaction with staff across MAX IV and with external partners, primarily European research infrastructures engaged in international collaborations. You will have central responsibility for project implementation, supported by a team lead and group manager, and benefit from active knowledge exchange within the team.

MAX IV is looking for a Project Officer to support three European initiatives. While your level of responsibility will vary between initiatives, you will play a key role in driving and implementing project activities, working with both project coordination and administration.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of advanced research, innovation, and European collaboration, with real impact on how research infrastructures engage with industry, funding bodies, and society.      

Your main work tasks will be

• Support overall design and implementation of work packages.
• Organise and manage a cross‑consortium open call for technical developments.
• Support planning and delivery of two in‑person cross-sector events.
• Follow up on sub‑project implementation and progress.
• Design and conduct an assessment of consortium innovation potential.
• Assess funding schemes for research infrastructures across Europe.
• Develop activities within the Life Science Hub focused on search for funding opportunities, grant applications submission, and strengthening of the collaboration in the Baltic region.

To be successful in this role you need to have the following qualifications

• Academic background in a relevant scientific field (Master’s or PhD).
• Documented experience coordinating activities within international collaborative initiatives.
• Proven experience organising events such as workshops or hackathons.
• Very high proficiency in spoken and written English (Europass C1–C2).
• Experience coordinating and contributing to large collaborative funding applications.

We expect that most of the work is done during normal office work hours (we apply flexitime), but we expect flexibility in connection to travel and for attendance of projects-related events.

Additional information

This position is full-time and tied to external financing for 4 years. The chosen candidate will be employed with the Swedish title "handläggare" in a permanent position starting with a 6-months probation period. Interviews will be held ongoing during the application period, with final interviews planned in week 22.
