Senior Functional Safety Engineer

You will help shape machine safety in development projects focused on heavy machinery and industrial equipment. In this role, you work close to engineering teams to ensure safety functions and safety-related control systems meet relevant standards and work in practice. You will combine hands-on safety engineering with structured documentation and validation in an advanced industrial environment. • You will perform risk assessments for machinery and industrial equipment.
• You will determine Performance Level (PL) and categorize safety functions.
• You will design and validate safety-related control systems in accordance with ISO 13849.
• You will develop and document safety functions as part of ongoing product development.
• You will interpret technical safety standards and turn them into practical engineering solutions.
• You will collaborate closely with engineering teams in an advanced industrial setting.

• Documented experience in functional safety according to ISO 13849-1 and ISO 13849-2.
• Strong knowledge of risk assessments.
• Strong knowledge of Performance Level (PL) determination.
• Strong knowledge of categorization of safety functions.
• Experience in design and validation of safety-related control systems for machinery.
• Ability to understand, interpret, and apply technical standards.

• Experience with safety-related control systems for heavy machinery or vehicles.
• Knowledge of related standards such as ISO 12100.
• Previous experience from the mining or automotive industry.
